Prayer Killersনমুনা
Doubt
To choose to pray, your confidence level in three aspects of God have to be in positive territory. You need to believe he is omnipotent, able to make happen the superhuman things that you are asking. Second, you need to believe in his wisdom. You have to trust that his decisions will benefit you in the long run. Finally, you need to trust that he loves you. Prayer is impossible if you imagine even for a minute that he is sitting on his throne laughing at you or making fun of you to the angels in attendance.
Jesus doesn’t despise us for our doubts, but neither does he tolerate that kind of thinking. His sacrifice on the cross brought God’s favor and righteousness on us. Through faith in him we receive the priceless status of “Child of God.” That makes his Father our Father and the Savior our brother. Jesus once told his fearful disciples, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11).
The powerful God who created the world in six mighty blasts of his word has not lost a step. The brilliant Designer and Engineer of this planet does not have Alzheimer’s. And there can be no higher measure of love than that of Jesus Christ, who showed the world that he would rather suffer and die than lose us.
