Eight Responses to Meeting Jesusনমুনা
The people of Bethlehem were amazed
“And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.” (Luke 2:18)
The shepherds were full of joy over the Child in the manger. Therefore, they did not keep the news to themselves, but made it known everywhere. Luke also describes the reaction of the people: “all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.” This was a natural reaction. The shepherds, too, were amazed. But whereas the shepherds immediately went out to see for themselves what they had been told, we read nothing about that among these other people. It seems that none of them bothered to visit the newborn Savior. They heard the news, marveled at it and went on with their daily activities.
Even today, there are many people who hear the Gospel, shrug their shoulders and go on with their lives. This reaction is downright dangerous. Because only when you truly come to know Jesus and accept Him as your Savior will you be saved. If you ignore Him, everything stays the same - except that God takes it seriously if you reject the salvation offered and holds you responsible for not believing in Him.
Marvel at the good news — and let it change your life!
