Worldview: A Study on Biblical Thinking and Lifestyleনমুনা
Day Nine: The Worldview Journey
How do we integrate worldview into our lives? We now understand more about the worldview journey—that we’re all on it, and that it’s an ongoing process. We begin our journey influenced by the lens of fallen human nature and gradually shift away from faulty thinking and beliefs as the truth of God’s Word comes into focus in our hearts.
When we are intercepted by the Gospel, we exchange the lens of fallen human nature with the lens of Christ. We must then move from awareness to action, integrating and applying God’s viewpoint to every facet of our lives. When we learn to function this way, we become influencers. This is a full-circle worldview journey—starting out being influenced and ending up as an influencer!
We’ve established that everyone has a worldview, whether they recognize it or not. Likewise, everyone lives by faith, but faith in what? Not every worldview is consistent, and an inconsistent worldview is inevitably vulnerable to influence.
That is why having a solid and consistent worldview is vital for every believer! Humans are inherently shaped by outside influences. If we don’t have answers to the big questions in life, we become susceptible to finding answers outside of the ultimate truth of God’s Word.
Deep within each of us is a longing for meaning and answers to life’s most profound questions. We all desire to be loved and understood by those around us. As Christians, how should we approach someone who is wrestling with their sense of worldview? We have the responsibility to love people well, and that means listening to the hearts of the individuals God places in our lives. This requires us to set aside our pride and be present with those whose convictions may be diametrically opposed to ours. When we make the effort to learn about other people’s beliefs and the perspectives and influences that have shaped them, we can engage in conversations and evangelism more wisely, modeling the love and truth of Jesus.
Our actions carry more weight than our words. When facing a high-stakes interaction, ask yourself this: If you never spoke another word about God to this person, would your life witness alone be enough to lead them to Jesus? Our goal is to embody truth, and from that position, lovingly lead others to it. In doing so, we can provide the world with answers based in truth that genuinely works!
Thought of the Day: When our worldview changes from unconsciously created to consciously grounded in God’s ultimate truth, everything else comes into focus. Our profound purpose is to fully embody God's truth.
