Why Me, God? Navigating Imposter Syndrome Through Faith

DAY 2 OF 3

I’m (currently) single, but I talk a lot (a lot) about marriage and my desire to get married. As much as I believe in the beauty and sanctity of marriage, as of today, I have no first-hand experience.

Enter: imposter syndrome. Who am I to talk about something I’ve yet to experience? How can I advocate for something I’ve never lived through myself? Then, one day it clicked.

My message is not for married folks, it’s for single folks like myself who also believe in marriage and want to get there!

You’ll often hear me say that we need to maximize our single season.

What does that mean exactly? Apart from spending this time working on your finances, paying off your debts, and investing in the things that bring you genuine joy, it means becoming the kind of person your future partner deserves!

This message has resonated not only with myself, but hundreds of other single folks in my community, and this type of change wouldn’t have been possible had I let the imposter syndrome win!

Although I’ve never been married, I knew that I had a perspective to share that could help others for the better. When God places something on our heart, whether that be a message or a calling, we must be obedient.

Is there a project you’ve put on the sidelines because of fear?

Lord, when the voice in my head causes me to doubt myself, may Your voice be louder. Use me as a vessel to bring people closer to you in whatever way You see fit. Amen.
