Surrender to the Holy Spiritনমুনা
Sticking with the tree analogy, we must remember that fruit doesn’t feed itself; instead, it nourishes others. When you let the Holy Spirit produce His fruit in your life, people closest to you will be fed by you. Your spouse, family, and friends will be nourished by the quality of your character that has been influenced by the Holy Spirit.
You see, the gifts of the Holy Spirit bring healing, deliverance, and salvation, but the fruit of the Holy Spirit brings nourishment. If you only have gifts but no fruit, the people closest to you will starve.
Your gift touches the world, but your spouse is fed by your character. At home, your anointing is not as important as your attitude. At work, your co-workers are fed by the fruit of the Spirit in you. You have to allow the Holy Spirit to develop this within you.
Often, God gives us the fruit of the Spirit in the form of a seed; Then, He provides us with the opportunities for that fruit to mature. The more we yield to the Holy Spirit in times of fear and uncertainty, the more the fruit of faith is developed.
Remember that your character will not be developed as a result of striving but as a result of surrendering. Surrender to the Holy Spirit. Stop trying harder; try differently. Start yielding to Him daily. Yield to Him the areas of your character that are weak and cause you to fail. Whenever a temptation presents itself for you to act out of character, at that moment, follow the Holy Spirit away from sin. You will sense His prompting; don’t grieve Him by ignoring His whisper.
Reflection: Reflect upon your character. How do your actions and behavior nourish those around you? Do they feel uplifted, encouraged, and loved in your presence? Remember that bearing good fruit isn't a one-time event but a continuous process that requires diligence and commitment.
Let's Pray:
Lord, help me to be someone who can feed those around you with the Character You build within me. Grant me the patience to understand the growth process and the commitment to bear good fruit in every season of my life. Let my actions reflect the depth of Your love and grace. Amen.
