Circling Back
Paul and Barnabus retrace their steps, making time to encourage the Church leaders in several towns. Upon their return to Antioch, they get the opportunity to share all that God has done on their travels.
Read: Acts 14:21-28 (NLT)
Explore the Theme: Paul and Barnabus experienced their fair share of trials and tribulation, but they never grew weary of preaching the good news, declaring the goodness of God or strengthening other believers. They even made time to find those who could follow in their footsteps and minister to the Church. What character traits do you think enabled Paul and Barnabas to remain so steadfast despite their hardships? What qualities might they have been looking for in those they appointed as elders of the Church?
Ask God: Think about a time when someone came alongside you to strengthen your faith. What do you most admire about that person? How did their support change or challenge you? What spiritual or relational growth did you experience as a result? Ask God to show you how he might be calling you to strengthen, encourage or invest in others in the Church family.
Live it Out: Paul and Barnabus both challenged and encouraged (discipled) others by sharing how they saw God at work around them. Pray about someone you could disciple by sharing what God has done in your life. What is the first step you could take to connect with them? Pray and reflect on what you’d like to share, then make it a point to reach out this week and begin the conversation.

About this Plan
(Part two of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.
