What Would You Do for Love?নমুনা
The book of the Song of Solomon tends to be a bit taboo because of all of its imagery and symbolism, however, it is a poetic discourse between two lovers. There are a lot of metaphoric romantic references, by which we can understand both literal and spiritual connotations of this book. Both of the nuances between two lovers, as well as the intimate imagery of the details that constitute a covenant between Christ and His bride (the church).
We understand the concept of exhibiting the Christ-like love and affection to people who do not know God, however, verse 7 of this chapter talks about the watchmen and the keepers of the walls. In other words, those who have been mandated to keep and watch over the city. We can say that these are the prayerful ones that we find within the church, the ones who are always on the lookout. However, we do find occasional offenses arising from the very ones who are mandated to protect. How do you react when the you are hurt from within the Body of Christ? How ready are you to continue to pursue Christ when you are wounded ? Will you resent the body of Christ and turn away?
We are all human and we all have the capacity of inflicting some level of pain on one another. What should you do if you find yourself in the position of being offended by your brother or sister in Christ?
The Shulamite says that the keepers of the wall and the watchmen deliberately struck her, wounded her and took away her veil. A classic example of church hurt. The very people who have been charged to protect, are the ones doing the wounding. With that being said, what's next? Is church hurt enough to stop you from actively pursuing your relationship with Jesus and fellowshipping in His house? The scripture says that she was wounded, and she still desperately searched for her beloved. In verse 8, she even spreads the news to the daughters of Jerusalem, not about what the watchmen did to her, not about how she was stripped of her veil by the keepers of the walls, but she spread the news about how in love she still is with her Beloved.
