Singing God's Word With the Elliott's

DAY 1 OF 6

Hello! We’re the Elliott’s, and we’ve been singing God’s Word for several years! No, we don’t travel around the world singing these songs. Instead, we sing them with our family, especially as part of our family devotional time.

We invite you to listen to these short songs and sing them with the people you love, too!

We will spend two days on each song, and within a week, you should know three new Bible verses and have a fun way to remember truth from Scripture!

The first verse we want to share with you is Psalm 18:30.

Have you ever questioned God’s plan? We sure have.

God’s way is perfect. However, it doesn’t always feel that way. When we’ve faced big losses, we’ve wondered if God still cared for us.

When life feels difficult at work or school, it’s possible that God allowed the pain to teach you or bring Him glory in some way. Many people talk about this option. However, fewer people discuss another option. God may not want the pain in your life. Yes, He may have allowed it, and that’s hard for us, but God’s original plan was without sin. Wouldn’t life be great if sin were eliminated? God’s way truly is perfect.

“God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield to all who look to Him for protection.” Psalm 18:30 NLT

Family Tip:

When you sing the word “shield,” hold up your right arm like your wrist is a shield, defending yourself against a bad guy.

Reflection Questions:

What is one way that God is perfect?

Can you name any of the Lord’s promises from Scripture?
