EXPERIENCING GOD THROUGH THE SCRIPTURES
1 John 1:1 NIV
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life."
Today, we explore how knowing God can be experiential, as exemplified by the Apostle John's experiences with God. Let's journey together toward a deeper conviction of God's presence in our lives.
Knowing God can also be experiential. The scriptures must lead us to an experience with God. Apostle John affirms in our text that the things he is saying about God are things that he has experienced. Such experiences cannot be taken from him.
What experiences do to us is that they deepen our conviction. We are not to seek experiences, but if we are students of the scriptures and follow the teachings of the Bible, we will undoubtedly have experiences in line with the scriptures. We must expect that all that we read in the Bible becomes our daily experience.
As we wrap up Day 3, remember that experiences in line with the Scriptures deepen our conviction. May your daily walk with God be marked by experiences that affirm the truths you find in the Bible.
