Thank God for Problems

DAY 5 OF 6

Divine Promotion

Welcome to Day 5 of our journey! Today, we explore the fourth reason to be thankful for problems: they often lead to a divine promotion.

Problems serve as a backdrop against which we experience the restoring power of God. Consider the instances in history:

- God restored Job.

- God reinstated David.

- God rescued the Jews from the evil plans of Haman.

- God remembered Noah.

- God resurrected Jesus.

Through problems, God unveils His immense power in our lives. Take the story of Lazarus, for example. He was not just dead but buried, and all hope seemed lost. His family mourned, not only for Lazarus but also for the disappointment that Jesus had arrived late. They pondered what might have been if Jesus had come on time, considering His track record of healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, healing the deaf and lepers. Yet, it seemed too late.

However, notice Jesus' words: "Lazarus has died, and for your sake, I am glad that I was not there so that you may believe. But let us go to him" (John 11:14-15). Those who once doubted felt disappointed and dismayed were astonished as a once-dead Lazarus walked out of the tomb alive.

God's promotion often emerges amid our problems, showcasing His extraordinary power to transform the impossible into the possible.

Take the story of James, a corporate executive: he faced a layoff due to a recession, and he started offering chemistry tuition to three 7th graders, trusting God for the opportunity. Within a few months, God blessed his efforts, and his tuition group expanded from 3 to 50 students. James now pursues this as a full-time occupation, earning three times more than his corporate job.

Personal victories amidst problems serve as an opportunity for others to believe in the God who can create a way when it seems there is none.

As we conclude today's reflection, remember that problems pave the way for divine promotion. Your story of triumph over adversity becomes a testimony to God's faithfulness, inspiring others to have faith in the God who elevates.

So, even when you encounter a problem, choose to thank God in advance for the promotion that is being birthed through the problem.

Heavenly Father,

I humbly recognize Your supreme sovereignty. Your wisdom and understanding far surpasses my own. While I may not comprehend the purpose behind this challenging situation, I have faith that You see the entire journey, from the start to the finish. I am confident that You, who started a good work in me, will not only bring it to completion but will also perfect it.

I believe that something good will ultimately emerge from this seemingly unfavorable circumstance.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
