Real Lifeনমুনা
When we read this verse written by Paul, we may think that it seems a little intense. Paul is saying that everything in the world is about as worthless as the trash in your trash can. This includes things like family heirlooms that have been passed down for generations, the car that you spent years saving for, and the possessions that you proudly purchased on your own. If it can be found here on Earth, Paul would say you could toss it all out tomorrow with no regrets. And, if we compare everything that we see around us with the saving grace that we have from Jesus Christ, you’d probably agree with him. There’s really no comparison at all! The grace of Christ is more valuable than anything in this world. When we see the world through that lens, it makes letting go of some things in life a little easier to do.
Take out a piece of paper and pen and make a list of all the physical things in this world that are important to you. This isn’t a guilt trip! It’s just a way to acknowledge where your value may be. Take some time to read over your list. Is there anything there that you would think is more important than your relationship with Christ? If so, ask God to help you place your value in this world in Him over all the things on your list.
