21 Days of Filiation: God, Family & Churchনমুনা

THE POWER OF CHOICE
The ability to choose is one of the main blessings of human existence. Animals act by instinct, a priori. On the other hand, human beings possess the ability to choose, decide, and assert themselves. Choosing to be a child is one of the greatest decisions one can make. It doesn't matter, in this sense, how much you have suffered. You cannot prevent the evil others do from reaching you, but you can prevent it from harming you. As the popular adage goes, "I can't stop a bird from flying over my head, but I can stop it from landing. What is the essence of this saying? We can decide.
It is hard to struggle with some pain, but it is important to trust that even if life hurts, Jesus heals! There is nothing that Jesus' presence cannot heal. In this regard, one of the most powerful prayers we can say is, "God, I want to desire to do Your will!" When you feel totally unable to decide and deal with a situation, don't neglect your ability to choose and rely on the power of Jesus.
If you choose to be a son (feeling, thinking, and acting like one), your days will be extraordinary. After all, those who see themselves as beloved children of the Father do not hesitate but rather seek the Father's plans for their lives. The orphan atrophies; the son flies. Choose to be a son!
