TIME IS TICKING AWAY

DAY 2 OF 3

Sculpting Time is in our hands

Time is a precious gift that we all have, yet we often take it for granted. We live in a world where time seems to be running out, and we struggle to keep up with the pace of our daily lives. We feel as if there is never enough time to do all that we need to do, and we often find ourselves wishing for more time. However, the truth is that time is not something that we can create or control. It is a finite resource that we must use wisely if we are to live fulfilling lives.

Ephesians 5:15-17 - "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is."

As Christians, we are called to be good stewards of the time that we have been given. We are called to use our time wisely and to make the most of every opportunity that comes our way. We are not to waste our time on frivolous pursuits or on things that do not matter in the grand scheme of things.

One of the key ways that we can sculpt time to our advantage is by setting priorities in our lives. We need to identify what is truly important to us and focus our time and energy on those things. We cannot do everything, so we need to make choices about what we will do with our time. We need to decide what our values are and what we want to accomplish in life.

Another important aspect of sculpting time is learning to say ‘no’. We often feel pressured to say yes to every request that comes our way, but this can lead to a life that is overwhelmed and unfulfilling. We need to learn to say no to things that do not align with our priorities and values.

Psalm 90:12 - "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

To truly make the most of our time, we need to have a heart of wisdom. We need to be intentional about how we use our time and make sure that we are aligning our actions with our values and priorities. We need to be mindful of the fact that our time on earth is limited and that we will one day give an account for how we have used our time.

Another way to gain wisdom and perspective on our time is to practice gratitude. When we focus on the blessings in our lives, we are better able to appreciate the time that we have been given. We are reminded that our time is a gift, and that we should use it to serve others and make a positive impact in the world.

Reflective questions:

  1. What are your top priorities in life, and how do you currently allocate your time and energy to these priorities?
  2. Are there any activities or commitments in your life that do not align with your values and priorities? How can you say no to these things and create space for what truly matters?
  3. How can you cultivate a heart of wisdom and gratitude in your daily life, and use these perspectives to make the most of your time?
