#IBelieve (Leo Bigger)
Recently a man in church said this in a slightly irritated tone: “Jesus speaks of a life in abundance, doesn’t he? Why do I only experience so little of it even though I have been on the path with him for so long?”
In principle, I am excited about people who want more from God and are not satisfied with the status quo. Let’s be realistic. We have certainly not experienced a fraction of what God has prepared for us through Jesus.
Do you want to stretch out even more towards Jesus together with me and many other people in the coming days?
But I have noticed a small but important detail: Jesus does not promise a fulfilled life, but a life that overflows. Jesus does not only want to fill you until the top, so you are full, but he wants his life to flow out of you.
If you only want to quench your own thirst, you will never have enough. Maybe the slightly egoistic approach of my friend above is the reason that he is experiencing so little of this life in abundance. For Jesus does not only want to fill him, you and me, but he wants to flow through us into the lives of others.
Actionstep:
Take a moment to think about how and where you can practically make the life of somebody else richer. And now: Who do you want to do something good for today?
