DAY 27 OF 40

#ReadyToGive (Sibylle Beck)

Generosity is the engine for revival! Do you also want to experience that?

The first Christians of whom we find out about in Acts had such a generous lifestyle which was so contagious that people found faith in Jesus and became a part of the daily fellowship.

The trigger for their extraordinary generosity was the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. People were set free to invest their lives and possession into something greater than just their little world. The Holy Spirit revived something among the Christians which is a characteristic of God’s nature and which has been before our eyes since the creation of the world: God’s generosity makes people blossom!

Christians were known for their generosity not only in the church but in the entire Roman Empire. They especially took care of the outcast and those forgotten by society. They also cared for each other, so that nobody had to suffer and everyone had enough to live. They even put all their savings together to ransom slaves. Something like this had never happened before.

Many poor, sick, widows and orphans fled to the Christians because the word had travelled that another spirit ruled among them. A living generosity is attractive and produces life!

Do you also want to be a part of this and experience anew so that people will get to know Jesus and experience healing in fellowship with us Christians? Then let’s make a difference in this world!

Actionstep:

What could you do today to help needy people in your surrounding? In the neighborhood, refugee home, old people’s home?

Say goodbye to your favorite piece and give it to a person in need in your church or somewhere else.
