DAY 5 OF 7

Less debt will result in less stress in your life

Life is challenging enough as it is, but having to deal with debt in addition to all of the difficulties you face each and every day can make it that much more stressful! Debt can wreak a lot of damage because debt will affect your relationship with your spouse, your children, your job, and most importantly your relationship with God. But let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.

I am not without sin, because after serving twelve years in the Army, all I had to show for it financially was over $32,000 in credit card debt and I had nobody to blame but myself. As soon as I started taking accountability for my situation and started making sacrifices and making smarter decisions with my spending, I began seeing real changes in my financial situation which resulted in a lot less stress as time went by.

Is all debt bad? No, but there is no such thing as good debt. Getting an education, buying a house, or starting a business are three endeavors that can be beneficial uses of debt if undertaken thoughtfully and with a discerning spirit, by seeking wisdom and counsel.

If you are debt-free, that won’t mean your life will be stress-free but if you have little or no debt, you will have the opportunity to give more, save more, and will be able to make better decisions which will result in less stress, better health, and most importantly a stronger relationship with God.

About this Plan

Jumpstart Your Finances

The financial situation in America is challenging and uncertain; families are in trouble. But we serve a mighty God and His ways are tested and proven time after time. Steve Repak faced the same challenges that others face: being spiritually and financially broke. God had a purpose for Steve’s life: a calling to financial faithfulness. Whether you are financially rich and spiritually broke, spiritually rich and financially broke, or anywhere in between, we challenge you to become a better steward of your financial resources so you can focus less on your temporary security and more on your eternal security.
