Draw Closer to God's Heartনমুনা
Continue to Draw Close to the Heart of Your Creator - James 4:8
The more you draw closer and closer to God, you will realize how human you are. The more you spend time with God, the Holy Spirit will highlight some areas in your life that need to change. Change is good! Gradually you will recognize your spiritual growth and maturity. Things that used to anger you easily or won’t have the same effect on you now. Those ungodly characteristics won’t be a trigger. Also, the closer you draw to God, the further you will pull away from the world.
The sinful lust of this world that used to tempt you with temporary pleasure will suddenly be uninteresting. Drawing closer to God will shift your perspective and change what brings you joy. For me, I found myself receiving more joy in God’s presence. It was a delight to simply be with Him. Experiencing His grace and love surrounded by the beauty of nature, or surrounded by encouraging friends, are a blessing too. Encountering God through lively praise and worship service fed my soul. I found contentment in the things of God and experienced real delight as I worshiped Him.
I found joy and peace in the security of knowing Jesus! The more I invited Him into all the areas of my life, the more I realized that Jesus gave my life meaning. So, when I’m working on my art, painting, drawing, or whatever I do, it’s used as a form of worship and to glorify Him. I see God in the intricate beauties in nature, blooming flowers in spring, and the trees waving in the breeze. The more I draw closer to God, the more I’m excited to experience His goodness. And the more excited I am, I joyfully anticipate seeing Him in Heaven! This life and its troubles are temporary, but I know my life with Jesus after this life will be forever! I’m looking forward to it. I desire nothing more than just being surrounded by God’s magnificent presence.
Creative prompt: Take a moment to reflect on what drawing close means to you. What is it like to draw close to someone? What does it look like or feel like? Now reflect on how this relates to you drawing closer to God, our amazing and loving Father.
