Who Am I

DAY 16 OF 20

When Jesus, God Himself, was on Earth, He chose twelve men to do life with Him. They camped with Him, ate with Him, and saw what He looked like first thing in the morning when He got up. They saw the look in His eyes when He looked at the hurting, and they heard the inflection in His voice when He spoke. They saw the laugh lines around His eyes, knew what His smile looked like, and heard what His laugh sounded like. They knew what foods He liked to eat and how He cooked. When God Himself walked on Earth, He chose closeness. He chose community. Jesus could have gone around all alone. If there was any man who could have been an island, it was Jesus. But He wasn’t. Of all the ways God could have chosen to live on earth, this is what He chose: community. There’s something about closeness and community that’s beautiful and important. Life isn’t fully life without it.

So, ask God for your community. Ask God for the group of people who you can be close and do life with. Closeness with people is the way God designed life and the way He chose to live it.

About this Plan

Who Am I

How would you define what makes up your identity? Maybe you define who you are by what you do or how you perform. While all of those things may be pieces of who you are, those definitions can change. Let’s take those questions about our identity to God to see what He has to say. As we do, we’ll discover that God wants us to find our identity rooted in the firm foundation of truth—rooted in who He says we are.
