Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 4নমুনা
This chapter starts with Jesus finishing giving instructions to His Disciples for their mission. Then there’s a question posed by John the Baptist to Jesus. John being in prison, wanted to know if Jesus was the Messiah or if they should expect another one. Jesus answered by pointing to the things He had done and encouraged people to keep on believing. He also gave some stern words regarding the towns where He performed most of His miracles. And then the invitation that still today stands as one of the biggest invitations connected to God’s love for us: “Come to me all ye who are weary, and I will give you rest.”
We sometimes find it hard to show love in practical ways and to be consistent in it.
But by this invitation Jesus extends, we are being assured of the fact that we have the support of the One who is Love. When we are tired and weary, we can bank on the fact that in Faith, we can show Love to a loveless world. We are not workers in the kingdom of God but co-workers in exhibiting His glory through Love. As the scripture emphasizes, we must rest and learn from Him, who is Love.
