Titus, Part Oneনমুনা
God reveals Himself
“... and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior” (Titus 1:3).
God had planned out His rescue for mankind before creation. But throughout history, it was revealed to us humans step by step. God promised to Adam and Eve that someone would come to destroy Satan's head. He promised to Abraham that his descendants would be a blessing to the nations. David was given the promise that his descendants would be kings forever. The prophets spoke about a coming redeemer. Finally, all these promises came together in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He announced God's plan of salvation in word and deed and commissioned people like Paul to share this good news with those who have not met Jesus personally — people like us.
God sometimes reveals Himself to people through dreams, visions, or an audible voice. But His Word is the primary means by which the Lord makes Himself known.
That God the Son would become man and die to forgive our sins nobody could have imagined. Nor that we can be saved through faith in Jesus. That is why the proclamation of God’s Word is so important! Are you willing to listen to it and accept the truths of the Bible?
