Year of the Bible: Part Eleven of Twelveনমুনা
How Do I Become More Like Him?
Imagine your birthday party about ten years from now. Your closest family members are there, as well as your neighbors, co-workers, boss, employees, friends, fellow church members, and pastor. Each of them stands up and says a few words about you.
What would you like them to say? Not about your life now but after your next ten years of spiritual and personal growth. What would you like to be so evident that they would most certainly mention it?
Now, what one step can you take today to help make those words a reality? That’s how vision works! That’s how we grow: by putting vision into action.
Peter lists aspects of God’s nature and says, “if these are yours in increasing measure” (that is, you are growing in these qualities), you will live a fruitful life. You’ll illustrate what healthy, long-term faithfulness looks like in a life that will be deeply rewarded in eternity.
Question: What relationship roles have you been given (in family, community, or church), and what would you like people in those realms to say about you one day?
Prayer: Ask God for practical steps you can take to make those desires a potential reality, and ask for His help to be faithful as a partaker in His incredible divine nature.
