God’s Christmas Gift to the World.নমুনা
The coming of Jesus our Savior
By Rev. Roger E. Woller
Jeremiah could have asked the people, “What are you waiting for?” And they could have answered, “We are waiting for God to keep His promises.”
We are in the Advent season. Advent means coming, as we are preparing ourselves for Christmas. Christians rejoice in the birth of Jesus their Savior on Christmas. On that first Christmas, God fulfilled his promises that are mentioned in words from Jeremiah.
Jesus came like a branch growing from the roots of a tree. The family tree was the family of King David. Jesus, our Savior, is called a righteous Branch who will establish justice and righteousness on Earth.
Now you might ask if Jeremiah mentioned that this righteous Branch was to establish justice and righteousness, where is this justice and righteousness? I don’t see much justice and righteousness. Just listen to the news from around the community and the nation. There isn’t much that is just and right. I only see what sin has done to the world, to the people around me, and to me. How can you say that Jesus has brought “justice and righteousness”?
My dear friend, you can be assured that Jesus has brought justice and righteousness for you.
It is true that you will never see perfection on this side of heaven, on this sinful earth.
- Read and listen to God’s Word, the Bible. The Old Testament is full of promises of the Savior. The New Testament tells us that all the promises that God made have been fulfilled in Jesus and in what he did.
- The second article of the Apostle’s Creed summarizes what Jesus has done for us. Read it, and meditate on each thought and phrase. This is the summary of the Gospel message.
When God the Holy Spirit creates faith in your heart to believe this,
- YOU are Just and Righteous; Jesus is your Lord, Your Righteousness
- YOU are a child of God, and heaven is your home.
- YOU will be in heaven someday with Jesus, who saved you and made your heavenly home secure.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that you are my justice and righteousness before God. Strengthen my faith in you and in what you have done for me. Amen.
