Walk Through The Bible 365 - Novemberনমুনা
The Hard Way Or The Easy Way?
We want growing up to be easy. Air-conditioned school rooms. Caring teachers. But God had a totally different plan for John the Baptist. He learned the hard way in the wilderness in and around southeastern Israel. And in the process he became ‘strong in spirit’ - able to be God’s prophet, to be tougher than his critics and detractors, and, when the time came, able to hand the reins over to Jesus. How strong are we?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I confess we so often want things the easy, soft way. In doing so we lack the spiritual ‘muscle’ and self-discipline necessary to get the job done. I thank you for the rough spots you’ve carried me through. I thank you for the challenges you put before me every day that allow me to learn to trust you more thoroughly. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
