Year of the Bible: Part Ten of Twelve

DAY 21 OF 30

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Paul is a profoundly thankful man of God. He is thankful for Jesus. He is thankful for the generosity and courage of the Philippians, for quality colleagues with whom he gets to serve Jesus, and for his current sufferings. He is thankful for the assurance of his eternal reward of being with Jesus.

The freedom of contentment is gained through the circumstances of life that require us to fix our eyes on Jesus and seek His aid to endure life’s circumstances. Expressing thanksgiving is a way to gain this understanding. Verbally giving thanks actually ignites brainwave activity that heals our brains and draws us into a confident, trusting relationship with God. Jesus and Paul both modeled this lifestyle of gratitude for each of us to emulate.

Question: What are you thankful for? Have you learned the freedom of contentment with Jesus in all things?

Prayer: Father, thank you, simply thank you!

Go Deeper: Realistically look at your life today. What can you be thankful for in your past, in your present, and as you look into your future? Speak aloud words of thanksgiving for each of those seasons of life. Listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit to bring peace to your soul, settle the anxiousness of your heart, and spark faith into your day.
