Peace I Leave with You
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 KJV
May the peace of God flow through every aspect of your life. May His peace flow through your family. May His peace flow in your home. May His peace dwell in your thoughts. May the peace of God dwell richly in every area of your life.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Peace” is, ‘eirēnē’ (G1515) which means,
“A state of national tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war, peace between individuals, (i.e. harmony, concord), security, safety, prosperity, felicity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous), of the Messiah's peace, the way that leads to peace (salvation).”
May the peace of God pursue you. May His peace follow you. May God’s peace give you tranquility. May His peace exempt you from rage and havoc. May the peace of God rest in your relationships. May His peace lead you.
The Amplified Version expounds upon John 14:27 (AMPC) in the following manner,
“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]”
Let not your heart be troubled—God has given you His peace. Fear not—God has given you His peace. Stop allowing yourself to be agitated and disturbed—God has given you His peace. Don’t permit yourselves to be fearful, intimidated, cowardly, and unsettled—because His peace is with you.
The New Living Translation puts it this way, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 (NLT.) Be not afraid. Receive God’s peace. Fear not, for God has given you His peace.
