Perspective Through Disappointmentনমুনা
When your plan doesn't work out
What are your plans for your life? Would you like to build a house for your family? Climb the career ladder? Or perhaps go on vacation again soon? What if your plans don't work out?
I've often had plans for my life that have gotten thwarted. Just recently, I had a great opportunity to go further with my music, but after a lot of work and investment, I received a brief message that completely changed the course of that plan: "It doesn't work out after all." My heart was filled with pain. Disappointment. Anger. My world collapsed for a brief moment. I'm sure you can relate if you've ever been in a similar place.
But do you know what? Your world may collapse, but GOD's world never will. You can find security in that truth. He also offers you this beautiful promise to sustain you: "'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.'" (Ezekiel 36:26, NIV)
God wants to lift those heart-wrenching emotions from your soul and give you new emotions filled with peace in their place. In your moment of pain, you may hardly believe this, but it is possible! All it takes is one step into His arms.
If your hopes have been dashed and your life isn't what you expected, I invite you to pray this prayer with me today: "Jesus, it really hurts. My heart is so full of pain and disappointment, and I just can't understand why I have to go through this right now. But I choose to come to You with all of it because I know You can do what seems impossible for me right now. You can bring me out of the dark hole of my emotions...I choose to come out holding Your hand. Give me a new heart that can forgive, let go, and move on. In Your name, amen."
I am praying that God will do a miracle in your life today, one that only He can do!
You are a miracle!
