Riding Solo: Life to the Full Minus Your Plus-Oneনমুনা
Are you bland or salty?
Every day we get to choose how we show up in the world. Even not making that choice is a choice in itself. Being single in 2022 can be great, and it can be challenging at times too. But it is up to us to choose what kind of salt we will be.
- Bland - I am single, discontent, dissatisfied, and a little relationship-obsessed, and I am building relationships with people to serve my needs.
- Salty - I am single, embracing where God has me, using my freedom for His good, and making every effort to represent Jesus in the plans He has set out for me whilst connecting with people.
How do I know if I am bland or salty?
Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.
Ask three friends you respect (the truth tellers in your life) what fruit they see you produce. We are constantly growing, and there are always opportunities to be salt in this world.
- Remember… Being salty takes daily decision-making and purpose.
- This is NOT a call to be nicer and force a smile - take the time to listen to the Spirit to show you opportunities to be salty.
Never done this before and feel apprehensive about what you might hear? I get that. Feel free to pick one friend instead of three, and before speaking to them, ask God that you may hear His voice through them. Remember, this is your friend; they love you!
