[Kainos] Continued Greatnessনমুনা
We Are Significant
Most of us, when we really like something, when our heart is in it, we give to the best of our ability. We make an effort to make it better. When David was planning the building of the Temple of the Lord, he did everything to the best of his abilities. He made sure he had provided for the Temple to the best of his ability, with all that he could. It was not a mediocre task, and he was not stingy in his giving. Maybe this is why God picked him to start planning the building of His temple—because He knew his heart.
We have been invited to be part of God’s work as believers in Christ. We have been invited to build the kingdom of God with our finances, time, and lives. He has given us spiritual gifts. He has given us resources. He has given us influence with people. What use are we giving these things that come from the Lord? Are we using them to further and build His kingdom, or use them for personal gain?
I am so glad that the Lord wants to use me and you. I feel most alive in my life when God is using me to teach the Word. It is such a blessing for me to be able to do this, for God to have picked ME for such an important task. It is a “want to” for me, not a “have to.” Seeing the Lord moving, seeing Him doing something, and knowing we are part of what He is doing is beautiful.
If you are a fan of the NFL, you know that the NFL draft is really important. They put it on TV, and everyone wants to know who will be the first-round draft pick, the second, and the third. Most of us know the top three, but we start losing interest once it gets into the late rounds. However, the last draft pick has become a big deal. It is the 256th draft pick, and they call this person “Mr. Irrelevant.” He is the last person picked. And sometimes, the last person picked gets into the best teams and becomes a really big deal!
Many times you and I feel like unlikely candidates for God’s work. We feel like Mr. and Ms. Irrelevant in Christianity. We think, “God will do all this stuff without us.” Still, if God has picked us for Team Jesus, despite our past and sin, that makes us Mr. and Ms. Significant.
God wants to use us to do something great for Him. The Lord wants to put us on His team!
About this Plan
The blessing of giving to God’s purposes brings the greatest joy. Let’s allow the Lord to do heart work in us, so that we can take the next steps. Let’s give the Lord our best and see what He will do.
