It’s Time to Shineনমুনা
Remember Who You Are
Who are you? I’m asking because sometimes we tend to forget who we are. To be clear, I’m not asking for your name, for a role you have in a certain relationship, or for what you do in your job. What I mean is, who are you at your core?
This question may seem basic or simplistic. But trust me, it’s profoundly vital if you want to make sense of your life and how you live.
Maybe your answer to this question is the same as mine: “I am a Christian.”
If you’re a Christ follower, I invite you to lean in with me for a fresh look at some truths you are likely very familiar with. I’m hoping you’ll discover something extraordinary about yourself. Because if we really want people to see the light of Christ in us, we first need to deeply know and understand who we are in Christ.
And when we live in the reality of who we are, we’ll overflow with joy to those around us.
I wonder how many Christians will bow before the presence of our glorious Father one day and suddenly realize everything the Bible says about them as a follower of Jesus is abundantly true:
“I really am beloved, forgiven, holy, set apart, and light in the Lord. God truly knew me and chose me to be His child before the creation of the world. I am His, and He is mine forever. I really do have a glorious inheritance as a co-heir with Christ. Every trial I endured, every prayer I groaned, each sacrifice made in love, and every choice to trust my God had an eternal impact.”
I also wonder—what if you decided that now is the time and today is the day to believe and passionately embrace what it means to be a Christian? What would change about your day?
The grace of God is an extravagant gift that demands our whole lives. But we don’t love and serve God for approval—we serve Him from His approval!
If we want to shine for Christ—and I’m believing you do—let’s start here.
Reflection Question:
- Am I becoming more like Christ or more like the world?
Look Closer: Who are you? As you read through today’s Scriptures, make a list of who you are in Christ.
