Flip the Switch: Finding God's Peaceনমুনা
God calls us to let His peace rule in our lives. It’s a voluntary calling that we receive. We choose to answer the calling at times, while at other times we let it go to voicemail. We’re busy trying to figure things out on our own.
The peace of God is perfect, but this doesn’t mean our lives will be. The peace of God will come in and get our minds on what is true. It’s not a matter of circumstances, it’s about surrendering.
As people, we don’t like to surrender. We don’t like to admit when we need help, and we certainly don’t like asking for help. Yet, in order to enjoy the fullness of the peace of God, it will take a surrendering of the things that disrupt our ability to find peace.
What is keeping you from God’s desire of peace for your life?
We HAVE to put our trust in God. We HAVE to rely on Him when life becomes so chaotic. We can’t do it alone.
Don’t be discouraged if more chaos comes your way, but be encouraged because the peace of God will triumph through it!
If you want the peace of God to rule within your life, you have to surrender to God. You have to give Him your life, and surrender your will to His will.
As people, we always feel that we have to be in the driver’s seat. We have to take control and rely on our own ability to fix what is broken.
Are we trying to control what we can’t control? Are we letting our mind be dominated by the “what if’s?”
It’s all fear based. Fear is the cousin of faith, it just doesn’t get invited to the family gatherings. Fear is having faith in your potential failures.
What are you putting your trust in that is stealing away your peace?
Think about the passage in which Jesus was asleep in the bottom of the boat while it was storming. The disciples were fearful because they thought that the boat would go down in the storm. They woke Jesus who rebuked the wind and waves. He then questioned the disciples on their own faith.
The answer lies in trusting Jesus.
He’s in your boat, too.
