Real Hope: Second Chancesনমুনা
Skilled and Resourced
I’m sure you’ve heard the expression ‘near enough is good enough’. This response may be appropriate; however, when outcomes are critical, it can be catastrophic. We would not expect this type of attitude from design engineers or scientists. We expect the best and do not settle for anything less. I wonder if this is how God feels when He thinks about the body of Christ, His church. He knows its health and success are critical to humanity, so He expects those who are building it to bring their best. Each detail of the tabernacle is meticulously laid out and designed to complement the others. Each section has a purpose or meaning. It was designed to fit together. A place of beauty. Those who were to build it were highly skilled and worked with unity, diligence and passion. And ultimately it was entirely resourced through the gifts of the community.
Do you feel called to build for God? Build the church with excellence, diligence, passion and unity. Be faithful with what you have. No other vocation will fulfill what’s in your heart. And as a community, let’s ensure that the local church is well resourced to do its work. Let’s be part of the solution and not the problem, lifting up those who carry the load to lead the believers and each playing our part so the body of Christ resembles the pure bride that Jesus Himself is coming back for. ‘Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ’ (1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV).
