EXPECT GOD'S BEST
Key Verse
Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion; instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. (Isaiah 61:7 NIV)
Thoughts on Today’s Key Verse
The still waters are a place of both giving and receiving. We give God the things that have negatively been affecting us, and He gives us the restoration we need to move on to a new and better life in Him. Things have happened in your life that the enemy intended for your harm. But God is taking those things, turning them into something beautiful, and using them for your good.
It’s okay to leave everything in the waters and take all God has to give.
“You will inherit a double portion of your land.” What is your land? Your land could be your home, job, business, children, and those you influence. God’s restoration blesses everything around you. He can do more with your shame and disgrace than you’ve ever imagined. He will take the effects of wrong-doing and turn them into a business, a platform, a brand, and an opportunity to affect others’ lives positively.
You must live a life of expectancy for God’s restoration. You must know that He is restoring you, and you must expect to see the blessing of that restoration all over your life. I expect to see trees if you tell me I’m going to the woods. If you tell me I’m going to the beach, I expect to see the sand and the sea. In the same way, God has promised you restoration, and you can expect to see His blessing. So live in a place of expectation.
Joy is yours; it belongs to you. Your days of shame and disgrace are over. The Enemy may have formed a weapon against you, but that weapon can’t be held against you when God is involved. God is restoring you; He is blessing you and caring for you. He is covering you with His double portion.
You have lived too long in a place of shame, and God is calling you out to your place of victory and blessing. You must walk in it, believe it, and expect it!
PRAYER
Lord, I want to walk in Your blessing. I can see now that it’s Your will for me to be blessed and that Your blessings are tied to Your restoration. I’m not used to living a life of expectation. My position was to expect the worst. But I now need to learn how to expect the best of your restoration and blessing every day of my life. So I will take baby steps and start where I am, expecting Your goodness to be revealed. In Jesus’ name, amen.
