Are you feeling weak right now?
If so, I want you to know God is with you right now. And not only that—He knows just how you feel. Jesus understands because He actually felt that weakness that you're feeling also. He faced all the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. That's the difference. That's from Hebrews 4.
The Bible is full of the prayers of others who also felt weak just like you do. They didn't give up, they cried out to the Lord for help. So we know from their example that God doesn't mind us bringing all of our feelings to Him. And we know that God is faithful to those who are weak. He promises to fill us with His strength, which is way better than our own strength. We need it.
In Second Corinthians 12 it says—Paul shares this story, and it's about when he cried out to the Lord for help. And he's thinking it through. He's remembering back to how God responded to his request and his cry.
He said…
My grace is all that you need. That's what Jesus replied back to him. My grace is all you need, Paul. My power works best in weakness. Wow. So now he says—Paul says, I'm glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me. That's why I take pleasure, said Paul, in my weakness, and in the insults and the hardship, and persecutions and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
So, if you're feeling weak, pray with me right now and ask God to come and be your strength. Let's pray. You could just say…
Lord, when I feel frail, when I feel weak, fill me with Your strength. I need it. And when I feel like giving up, Lord, (and You know I feel like giving up even right now), You know my heart. But, please God, hold me steady. I can't do it alone. Hold me steady. Hold me with Your power. I'm hurting Lord, but I trust You and I know that You will not let me be crushed. Lord, I am leaning on You and I need You to be the strong one right now. Thank you. Thank you, God Almighty, for understanding my weakness and staying with me. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
It's okay to feel weak. We're weak, but God is our strength.
