What are you most ashamed of? Is there something that you're trying to hide from God? Well, guess what, He knows all about it already. You can't hide anything from Him because He knows us even better than we know ourselves.
The Bible tells us that in Hebrews 4:13…
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. It says, Everything is naked, exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable.
My friend, I know that if you're feeling ashamed about something, that sounds like a very scary thought— that He sees it all and He knows it all. But, don't be afraid. We serve such a good God. God helps us to deal with our big problems, little by little, and our little problems that add up to become big problems. And He does it just at the right time. So maybe right now is the right time to bring up that very difficult, maybe even a secret topic that you're trying to avoid addressing with Him.
Rest assured. Listen, friend, He knows all about it. He will not be disillusioned. He has no illusions to begin with. He will not be shocked. He will deal tenderly with you because He loves you. The Bible says—God says, I am slow to anger, abounding in love. Do you believe it? If you're ashamed about something, confess it to the Lord today, don't wait another day—it will only get worse, I promise you—and see what He will do.
I would love to pray for you about this right now. Let's pray together. Okay. So you join me in your heart, you just call out and say…
Jesus, thank You. I know this is not hidden from You. I know that I can't run away from it. I know that shame is really harassing me and it's real.
Lord, I want to pray that You would help my friend to really open up all the tender places of their heart, that fear—You understand that about us. It's so real and there are places we just want to hide them. But I pray my friend will open up their heart. And that that would help them to see it and understand it. And I pray that You would show them that through it all there is an abundance of love for them, today, and Your mercy for them, today. Thank You for these kindnesses, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
Our God sees everything. And He still loves us.
