LIVING A NEW STORY
Do you have fridge rights in the homes of those you love? Fridge rights are the idea that when you visit the home of friends or family, you can walk in, open their fridge and help yourself unashamedly. Hebrews 10 speaks about how we can unashamedly and boldly enter into God's presence. When we confidently know our identity in Christ, it comes with inheritance and authority not based on arrogance but position. A child who knows they are truly loved will not fear asking for food, clothing, or shelter - they will have a deep automatic trust in their parents' goodness to provide, care for and protect them. This will, in turn, result in confidence in how they face and embrace life around them. When you know who is for you, you need never fear those against you.
Finding our identity in a right relationship with God will mean we begin to live out a new story. God wrote the plans for your life story even before you were created - He dreamed about you and wrote about you in His book. This is a mind-blowing concept as it means that when we find ourselves shattered into a million pieces due to the brokenness of this world, we know that our heavenly Father has the blueprints for our life. Kind of like what it must feel like when a kid drops a masterpiece of Lego they built; having the instruction manual of how to rebuild that masterpiece brings comfort, knowing that one doesn't have to struggle to rebuild it on their own.
Psalms 18:20-24 MSG "GOD made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start. Now I'm alert to GOD's ways; I don't take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick. As a result, I feel put back together and watch my step. GOD rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes."
The message version of this Psalm captures the redemptive and restorative heart of our Father. As you embrace this journey of healing and wholeness, I encourage you to keep bringing the pieces of your life before him and to watch how only He can rewrite your story.
