YOUR ATTITUDE TO CARRY ON
The attitude of disciples growing in holy, whole, and wholehearted living is rooted in humility.
Humble people do not live in timidity and fear, thinking and living small because they are afraid they might steal God’s glory. God is not afraid of us stealing anything from Him. God’s not afraid, period. As image bearers of a holy God, we don’t need to be afraid either.
Humble hearts belong to people who God’s love has so wrecked that they are willing to allow Him to extinguish all the selfish, burning desires of their hearts so they can live according to the Spirit. They know their flesh apart from God’s presence is grossly destructive but their body partnered with God’s presence is wonderfully powerful!
Humble-hearted people fear one thing: the absence of God. This is why David, a man after God’s own heart, a mighty and humble warrior, cried out for two things: (1) that he could be in God’s presence and (2) that God would never take away His presence.
When you have an attitude of humility, you are willing to learn and grow as God works within you, even when He challenges you to overcome your spirit of fear and timidity. God will ensure that you come face-to-face with what frightens you most. It’s His way of showing you that fear has always been an illusion projected onto the walls of your unbelieving heart.
Do not be afraid!
His saving love will deliver you, moving you from where you are now to where He wants you to go. His ways will not be comfortable, but they will be the best.
Reflect:
Describe the secret place where you meet with the Lord. What does it mean for you to go there?

A journey to wellness isn’t just focused on what you eat or how many pounds you weigh, but the “weight” that keeps you from living an abundant life in Christ.
