The Wellness Revelation 40-Day Journey

DAY 24 OF 40

Renew Your Mind

FREEDOM FROM WORRY, FEAR, ANXIETY, AND UNCERTAINTY

God may sometimes permit pain in our lives because living under tension can help build us up and make us more like Christ.

Like a personal trainer, our Father wants to increase our strength to remain faithful rather than fretful, even when we face temptations that regularly cause us to stumble. God works through all of our challenging circumstances to train our weaknesses, so He can increase our strength and make us more holy and whole.

But in these challenging circumstances, how quickly we humans can go to a place of fear or worry. We start working, toiling, and making plans for our protection and provision. When we worry, we divide ourselves from the peace, protection, and provision of the Father. Worry is related to the Old High German word meaning “to strangle.”

Through our worry, Satan searches for any opportunity to get close enough to reach out with his scaly, cold hands and strangle us. His goal is to steal our life and darken our light. We must protect ourselves from fear, worry, anxiety, uncertainty, and all similar emotions.

Worry exacts a higher cost than the loss of sleep. To date, science has proven that stress negatively affects our health and is related to the leading causes of death. Because God loves us and is always for us, He reminds us that we need not worry or have fear.

God offers us a better way: We are to give Him all our cares and worries.

Reflect:

Is there a worry that is “strangling your life?” How can you cast that worry on Jesus?
