Soul Care to Save Your Lifeনমুনা
Everything is in a constant state of change. This we know to be true in our own lives, but also in the world at large. Every single second, new babies are born at the same time as other people are taking their last breaths. At the very moment you accepted a new job offer, someone else is being told they’ve been laid off.
No wonder we are a hot mess when we try to tap into this life as the source of our security, identity, and purpose. It’s all changing at the speed of light! We look for security in our friendships, marriages, jobs, and more. Sometimes we think we’ve found it, but no sooner do we find ourselves back to square one.
Yet, our hearts and souls know better. They call us back to the importance of things that cannot be seen, purchased, or conjured up through having enough grit. Things like love, hope, integrity, friendship, trust, and compassion. These are the things that bring substance, fulfillment, and lasting joy to our lives. These are the attributes that bring lasting security.
We can seek and pursue security in a million different ways, but there is only One who can provide it: Jesus. When my security is found in Him, I’m truly safe because it’s real. When someone asks me how I can love and then let go of a child we’ve fostered for a year, I tell them the truth: I trust in God’s faithfulness.
I genuinely believe He cares about the well-being of these kids even more than me. When someone asks me how I share my life’s greatest hardships and most vulnerable moments so publicly, I tell them the truth: I am living for an audience of One. It’s easy to convey honesty when my worth is not wrapped up in how people receive or perceive them.
In everything I say and do, I’m fearless because I am rooted in Jesus; He is my source of security. I dare you to get to a place where what God thinks of you matters more to you than what anyone else thinks. You only get there by practicing daily. I dare you to shift the focus from yourself and onto Him. You and I will always make mistakes and fall short, but if we can focus more on all God does for us rather than if we are enough, we will experience a security that does not waver.
Where do you place your security? Spend a moment confessing whatever the Holy Spirit brings to mind.
About this Plan
What would your life look like if you knew and loved yourself as Christ loves you? The perfection we feel pressured to project from ourselves and for others comes at the expense of our emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being. Shift your focus from performing to purposeful living from the inside out. Soulful honesty between God and you always bring healing, so let’s embrace the confidence God's forgiveness and restoration offer.
