Called To Loveনমুনা
Sharing in the Love & Persecution - He has overcome so that we may overcome
When Jesus was on earth, He shared a radical way of living and taught how to love unconditionally which was completely countercultural. He taught that no matter your status, no matter what may be wrong with you, or what you have done, you still deserve to be loved and have the chance for redemption. This was frustrating for those who benefited from political, power-based hierarchies, and for a world that liked to place people in boxes. However, the grace and salvation that Jesus gives is for all who believe and conform to His teaching.
Jesus is reminding His disciples here, and the church today, that persecution may come because of what we believe. However, still, we should stay true to what we know and allow Jesus to deal with the hearts of the unbelievers. Do not be afraid and do not be ashamed. Let us remember that Jesus has overcome the world and our strength comes from His Spirit living within us. If He can overcome ridicule, unjust treatment and punishment, so too can we through His Spirit.
Prayer -
• God, help your church stand strong no matter the persecution it may face
• We pray for those around the world being hurt and suppressed for their faith in you; be with them and help them overcome in your Spirit
Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, God, for giving us the help of the Holy Spirit
• Thank you that you have overcome and in your victory so too can we
