Sisters: The Five Daughters of Zelophehadনমুনা
A few years ago, when Canon J John was with our Church, he told the story of how he and Killy continually went on ‘missions trips’ by walking next door and around their neighbourhood. These days, their neighbourhood can count on them to be love in action and many have experienced God's miraculous power in their lives due to Canon J John and Killy’s actions.
This testimony reminds me that when you know who you are in Christ, when you know the authority on your life to walk in the miraculous, then the bolder and more confident you will be in your prayers and actions.
Jesus says we have been given ‘All authority, therefore GO make disciples… I am with you even to the end.’ This is not a passive sentence. Jesus actively gives us all authority through himself; how powerful is this command!
There is a measure of heaven’s dominion breaking into earth’s realm right now. We see revival in so many places across the earth, and the expression of God’s love through His people is having a great impact across the earth. It is for all the situations that you thought were too hard. For all the people you love so much, who are lost to the gospel, it is for your sons and daughters, your mothers and fathers. EVERYONE.
God gives us the grace to believe for the impossible, and I ask all women to step up in our intentional prayer lives. God delights in taking broken people with shattered emotions and minds, making them righteous. Oaks of righteousness are those who were unstable but have become the most stable.
Oak trees do not budge. Oak trees do not bend to the times, winds, or popular theories. Rather they bring shade to others. The shade of safety. The shade of security. The shade of covering in prayer. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:6, “When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
He said this as a warning to avoid being showy and hypocritical when you pray, yet this verse is still a manifesto to be undistracted and fervent in prayer behind closed doors. The most private and undistracted place has been behind closed doors for two thousand years. Nowadays, the noise has relocated indoors. If our computers and devices are near, it’s the worst place to try to pray.
I want to challenge you to restore this place of undistracted prayer. Get away from the crowds, and the noise, particularly from social media and the internet. Make a list if you need to follow along. Whatever you need to do to carve out dedicated and secluded time. Your prayers are more powerful than you give them credit for.
What is it you believe God for?
What territory in your family, neighbourhood, or school do you believe in God for?
Another way to pray in secret or behind closed doors might be actually to get outside and walk and pray. Walking keeps you active, keeps you engaged, and reminds you of the territory you were born to possess. Joshua 1:3 says, “Wherever your foot treads, that have I given to you.”
The five daughters of Zelophehad stood on the authority of their Father and changed the world for not just them and the generations to come, but for the people of God since then.
CONCLUSION
Oh, that we would stand with unshakeable boldness in the authority Jesus Christ has given us worldwide. It’s time to rise up, take authority and declare the finished work of Jesus over our homes, our neighbourhoods, and our nations.
I believe for a community of women who will create a legacy of unwavering faith and realize the authority given to them. As they get a hold of this, they will see the effects of their faith in their families, neighbourhoods, etc., and communities.

About this Plan
Join Pastor Darlene Zschech for a 6-day study on the Sisters of Zelophehad, who stepped out of their comfort zones and dared to ask for something very radical in their time. We believe their story can inspire women today, who are called to be strong pillars of faith and destined to be witnesses in our culture.
