Maybe you are uncertain.

Maybe you’re reading this and going “okay, I hear what you’re saying about being chosen. I understand that God has a plan for me, but look at my history. Look at the times I’ve been trusted and failed. Look at all my shortcomings.”

God doesn’t pretend to not know about your past. The difference between God and people is that God doesn’t dwell on the past. He doesn’t live in nor worry about the faults of yesterday. He is too busy focused on the present and future to worry or care about the events of the past.

You’re loved, and you’re being led for THIS very moment.

You can’t go back and change what you did or didn’t do yesterday. You can’t live in regret.

What you can do is repent, turn from it, learn from it, and realize that you’re being led for this very moment. You were chosen for this very moment. God knows your past faults, your present issues, and your future mistakes, and He STILL has chosen you.

You think that you blew it, but there’s more that God has for you. He’s been trying to get to you. You haven’t been trying to get to Him; He’s been trying to get to you.

Think about it:

He rescued Peter out of the water so that He could anoint him. He doesn’t want to just rescue you, but He wants to speak to you.

He doesn’t want to just speak to you; He wants to comfort you.

He doesn’t just want to comfort you, but He wants to replenish you.

He’s the God who doesn’t leave you the same as He found you. The obstacles of your past have been training you for something greater, and something higher—something better.
