Real Hope: Discovering Hope Through Josephনমুনা
God’s Divine Plan: You Sold Me ... God Sent Me
When his brothers came to Egypt, Joseph saw them bowing before him, and he remembered his dreams as a boy. Joseph realized that God had a purpose for his life, beyond the present. What the brothers meant for evil, God meant for good. Psalm 5:4, in fact, tells us it’s completely against God’s character to commit evil.
Joseph had his eyes and heart set on the good, not on the pain of the past.
So Joseph’s brothers selling him was their decision. That’s why Joseph said, "You sold me"… but… "God sent me," because their actions had served to further God’s purposes. Joseph knew that, despite the hate from his brothers, he had ended up in Egypt for God’s divine plan. The brothers had interpreted the dreams as Joseph lording it over them, so they attacked him based on this misinterpretation (Genesis 37:8,10). But it wasn’t until Joseph revealed himself, that they realised the dreams weren’t about lordship, but about salvation and service. God sent Joseph ahead of them to save them and others from a terrible famine that was coming.
PRAYER: Lord, we thank You forYour divine plan and purpose unfolding in our lives. We know that what the enemy meant for evil in our lives, You will turn it ALL around for good. In Jesus name, Amen.
