How to Survive the Waitনমুনা
Key 4: PERSIST
Welcome to the last day of this plan! The fourth key may be the hardest, but it is crucial to surviving the wait. The final key is to persist. We must learn to keep going—
When things aren’t going our way.
When we have been waiting forever.
When everyone around us seems to be farther down the road than we are.
When we want to give up.
When we are in the wait and life keeps throwing obstacle after obstacle at us, we can persist in the first three keys. Continue to praise God, prepare whatever area of our lives or hearts God asks, and plant good seeds. These are great ways to be persistent in the wait. It would be a tragedy to quit on God’s plan before it is finished.
Persistence gets us over the finish line.
Lamentations 3:25 says that The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. When we dig into God’s word during the wait, and when we press into his Presence, we will be different than we were.
He will not let us down. He won’t stop until his plan has come to fruition. Will we choose to trust him and keep going?
Before we quit, start comparing our situation with everyone else’s or decide that we have been waiting too long for God to keep his promises; let’s ask God to give us the strength and stamina to continue. We show God we have faith in him and his plan if we keep going despite the days, months, or even years of waiting.
We do our part during the wait, and we can rest assured that God will do his.
Action: For extra encouragement and accountability, consider asking a friend or prayer partner to pray with you in any area you are struggling with.
Prayer: Lord, have your way with my wait! Please show me where to persist, plant, and prepare. Let my mouth continue to sing your praises, even when I don’t see anything happening. Thank you for having good plans for me, plans that I will eventually see come to fruition if I persist in this wait. In Jesus’ name, amen.
