“Still Loved"
Why did we start out looking at God’s love for us? Because it’s essential. It’s essential to whom we are (our identity), it’s essential for salvation, it’s essential for our relationship with the Father, and it’s essential to conquering fear.
Sometimes our fear comes from childhood trauma, shame, and regret—the fear of people finding out who we really are. That’s a valid fear. The good news is there is One who knows us inside and out, the good, the bad, and the ugly—and still loves us.
Pastor and author Tim Keller says, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” Meditate on this profound truth today.
