Forget Not: 3 Things Christians Must Not Forgetনমুনা
Remember God When All is Well/Forget Not in Your Plenty
Deuteronomy 8:11 (NLT) says: “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the LORD your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.”
It is easier to remember God when we are in great need. When all is good, it is easy to forget the one who helped us on our journey to becoming successful. That’s a dangerous thing! Living in disobedience to God is inevitable when we forget God in plenty.
To remember God in plenty, when all is good, we must stay in love with God or keep growing in love with Him. Our relationship with Jesus is like a marital relationship or friendship. We do not show up only when we need help. God must become our best friend indeed. Best friends know about the good and challenging days. Their relationship withstands the test of time, and they are vulnerable with each other.
John 15:15 (KJV) says, "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." And James 2:23 (NLT) says, "And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God."
God wants to be your friend in every season. Like Abraham, we must have faith in God as our source, even in plenty, and acknowledge Him as the doer of all the good things we experience.
I pray that you may come to know practically, through personal experience, the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. Amen (Ephesians 3:19)
