UNPACK this...What Is God Doing?নমুনা
It Makes No Sense
Watching games every Sunday during the NFL season gives fans a good pulse on which teams are expected to win. However, some weeks bring surprising results with performances that make no sense.
Head-scratching games and shocking upsets bring fun to the NFL, and the unpredictability makes us keep coming back for more. But, when we don’t know what to make of the results or how to move forward in evaluating certain teams, it creates major confusion.
So, it is in life. When we’re left scratching our heads because things don’t make sense and outcomes don’t go the way we expected, we’re unsure of what to do next and how to evaluate our situations.
Even so, these perplexing moments allow us to seek God and trust Him to provide us with the direction we need.
Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
When we’re confused and need clarity about the next steps we should take, James 1:5 gives us this wonderful assurance: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
While clinging to the truth of the Gospel and the reality that God loves us and is with us, these are encouraging words we can passionately pray: “Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You” (Psalm 25:5).
As we persevere through the confusion, we can also be mindful of God’s ongoing faithfulness and what He’s done previously.
Lamentations 3:22-24 tell us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’”
Though things may not make sense today, let’s be encouraged that God has come through for us in the past, and we can confidently claim He’ll come through for us in the future.
I’m Bryce Johnson and you can UNPACK that!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, things don’t make sense right now and I’m not sure what steps to take next. Please provide me wisdom and remind me of the truth You’ve already revealed. Teach me not to forget Your ongoing faithfulness in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
