Come to the Tableনমুনা

LET US FORGET
In this passage, we are asked to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection and His sacrifice on the cross.
Therefore, what is it that I am encouraged to not remember?
While I focus on the finished work of the Cross and the victory that I live from and not just towards; I must choose to forget all the sins that Jesus has forgiven me of.
I am now dead to sin and alive to Christ.
His blood has blotted out my sins and though they are as red a scarlet, He washes me white as snow.
He forgives me of all my sins and chooses to remember them no more. So I do not need to remember them either.
I do not need to remember or relive the shame and guilt.
I do not need to remember my past failings because I am not a product of my past but my future destiny in Jesus.
I am no longer a slave to my past or sin. I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.
Some people approach the table of acceptance as a time to remember their sins and confess them before partaking of the table. While that may be good, remember you do not come to Jesus based on your righteousness, but His alone. He has made you righteous which is right standing with God.
Therefore, your acceptance is not based on performance. His grace and mercy do not give you the punishment you deserve, and it freely gives you spiritual blessings that you do not deserve.
You can now boldly approach the throne of grace at any time because Jesus paid for all sins; past, present and future.
So let us choose to forget and leave the past behind. Let us be anchored in the future, to the great Hope to which we as Christ-followers have been called.
