Overturning the Sexual Revolution
One of the major shifts in morality in the twenty-first century is the evolving view on sexuality. Half a century ago, homosexuality was not an issue because most nations and religious groups labeled homosexual behavior as sinful. Today, there is a greater acceptance of homosexuality in more secular and affluent countries.
Marriage used to be between a man and a woman, but now twenty-three countries around the world allow gay marriage. These trends are unsettling and a cause for worry among Christians who are being challenged for their biblical beliefs regarding sexuality and marriage. Will this shift in sexual morality gain more adherents? Or will we see a bigger number of people upholding God’s moral standards?
Orly Daiz was abused by an older person when he was a child and grew up with an attraction to the same sex. He later found work in Saudi Arabia as a fashion designer and though in a restrictive country, he had sexual relations with men. A mutawa (a police charged to enforce adherence to Saudi Arabia’s codes of conduct) learned about him and charged him with prostitution. Imprisoned and terribly mistreated by the police, he cried out to God for help. Four days later, he was released. From then on, he had a deeper hunger to know Jesus Christ and follow Him. Today, he is happily married to a woman and they have three daughters.
The current sexual revolution can only be overturned by a spiritual revolution. Like Orly Daiz, anyone who submits to the lordship of Jesus will experience a changed life. God can remove our stubborn, selfish spirit and replace it with a submissive heart that seeks His design and purpose.
Prayer: Forgive us, Father, for our sins. And thank You, Jesus, for Your blood that washes all our uncleanliness. Deliver us from all forms of sexual bondage. Use us as Your representatives to a community that seeks the pure and unconditional love that only You can give.

About this Plan
The twenty-first century is a time of turbulence: the refugee crisis, economic instability, disconnection in a digitally connected world, shifting sexual morality, secularism, suicide, and the quest for a spiritual home. This devotional draws us to Jesus, our anchor in a world that’s going adrift, and challenges us to fulfill the Great Commission. It is designed as a companion to the book with the same title.
