Proverbs – Sayings Of Solomon

DAY 9 OF 13

Experiencing Wisdom

The wisdom Solomon received was not a momentary gift of wisdom to solve an immediate problem. When Solomon asked for wisdom, he received a supernatural endowment from the Spirit of God. His wisdom was not situational, or moment by moment, but rather deep, wide, and all-encompassing. He lived in a realm of wisdom and shaped his world to the wisdom God had given him.

This is the realm into which our Father invites us. It is a transformational place where the Spirit of Wisdom draws us into union with himself. The impartation of wisdom we receive from him in that place is so deep that the word “learning” hardly describes it. We learn it in the same sense that we learn to walk as a child—once we learn it, it becomes our way of living and we can imagine no other way of life.

The place of wisdom is always a place of intimacy with our Father, for he is wisdom. The place of wisdom is a place of blessing, for wisdom produces blessings. And the place of wisdom is as experiential as life itself, for wisdom encompasses and applies to all of life.

Wisdom like this, that conforms us to the Spirit of Wisdom, cannot remain trapped within us, but overflows into our words as we speak to those around us. How wonderful it is to have the guard of wisdom protecting our communication! As we see our words bring life to our relationships and occupations, our hearts are filled with satisfaction.

Recall a moment when you heard yourself say something so wise that it surprised you. This can happen for you every day. What would it look like if your words brought life and wisdom to all your relationships, at home and at work?

About this Plan

Proverbs – Sayings Of Solomon

Proverbs is the greatest book of wisdom ever written, mostly penned by the wisest man to ever live. God gave his servant Solomon this wisdom to pass along to us, his servants, who continue the ministry of Jesus, the embodiment of wisdom, until he returns in full glory. This 13–day reading plan, inspired by The Passion Translation Proverbs: Wisdom from Above, includes the sayings of Solomon from Proverbs 10-22.
