Treasured Memories: How to Mindfully Navigate Grief

I dedicate this devotional to Modadeola Anjolaiya, and all the little ones we briefly held or never held, and every parent mourning the loss of their little ones.  

God sees and counts your tears. He heals broken hearts.

I have never lost a baby, but my calling and profession allow me to both rejoice and mourn with parents of infants (Romans 12:15). I know pain and grief because I was told I no longer have a father and mother in a single day at a very young age. The pain that stems from the loss of a little child is incomparable, yet, God’s Word pierces through our deepest wounds and pain regardless of the cause of trauma.

In the name of Jesus, I pray for your supernatural comfort this season. I decree and declare that the content of this plan will bring you comfort and hope in the name of Jesus. I pray that hope will arise as you listen to or place your eyes on God's Word this season. 

Romans 15:4(KJV) says, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

The pain of grief can make it difficult to have hope for the future or believe that everything will be alright. Romans 15:4 is a reminder that God’s Word and patience bring hope. Give yourself time to mourn and be intentional about reading God’s Word this season. Consider playing the audio version of the Book of Psalms freely available to you here on The Bible App. 

Please ponder and declare this truth: God’s Word is my source of comfort and hope.
